The Milky Way Galaxy (often shortened to the Milky Way, or just referred to as 'the galaxy' since Sporegate only features this galaxy)
The Milky Way is where the story of Sporegate takes place. It is divided into 168 sectors, which are designated based on their angular and distance position, and are used to help navigate the galaxy. (both in-universe and out of universe)
All of the established species in Sporegate are native to the Milky Way. It is unclear if extragalactic life exists or if only the Milky Way is inhabited.
A significant portion of the Milky Way was once occupied by the Great Terran Empire.
Numerous planets across the galaxy have been seeded with Sporegates, allowing for near-instantaneous travel between them. The gate network has proven invaluable for countless civilisations, pre-FTL and FTL-capable alike.
