The Dakiscan Federation of Planets (often shortened to 'DFP') is a technologically advanced civilisation originating from the planet Dakisca, in the star system Neydo, in the Milky Way quadrant A5D4.
Prior to all-out war with the Holy Yurgaian Empire and the Dakiscan Civil War, the DFP primarily focused on peaceful scientific discovery and furthering their understanding of the universe.
After the violent conflict with the Holy Yurgaian Empire, the Federation's leadership was torn between two camps with differing ideas on how to proceed. One side believed that the DFP needed to take a much more aggressive path with more focus on defense and pre-emptive strikes, the other side remained firm that the previously established Dakiscan way of peaceful scientific study and diplomacy was the way to proceed.
Neither could come to an agreement, eventually culminating in the desperate more defense-oriented side forcibly seizing control of various Dakiscan worlds, including Dakisca and the Neydo star system, effectively making them the main governing body of the now fractured Dakiscan Federation.
As the new governing body forcibly took power, those Dakiscans who remained loyal to their original ways of peace and science began to organise and plan to restore the original way and retake their federation from revolutionary control, forming what would come to be known as the Dakiscan Rebels. The Dakiscan Rebels have proven themselves an indispensible ally to the Magiyanii, providing translator devices as well as manpower. There is a Dakiscan member on one of the most prominent Magiyanian offworld-reconnaissance teams.
